Important Notice for users of 700 MHz wireless systems

The FCC has sold off many frequencies in the700MHz ( 698 to 806 MHz) range for cellular data.

Wireless microphones and personal monitors may continue to operate in the UHF television band between TV channels 14-51 (470-698 MHz), and in the VHF television band between TV channels 7-13 (174-216 MHz).

The deadline for the '700MHz' change is still up in the air. It will not become effective until the DTV transition is completed. Congressional action had established February 17, 2009 as the date of this transition. However, on February 4th, 2009 Congress passed legislation extending this deadline to June 12, 2009.

So, in the short term, business as usual. If you have existing systems above TV channel 51 (the 700MHz range), such as the UA and UB frequency bands, you should be able to continue using them as normal until the end of the DTV transition.
